FCD organized "The Problems and Possibilities for Decent Work Improvement - Step Toward EU" training


Center for Democracy Foundation, with the help of other organisations, organised the training „The Problems and Possibilities for Decent Work Improvement - Step Toward EU", on May 20-21st in Belgrade. 


Training was designed for representatives of relevant trade unions and NGOs that deal with economis and social rights. The aim of the training was to define some of the most burning problems in Serbia regarding economic and social rights that can be solved through CSOs joint actions.

Ms. Dragana Radovanović, the Head of International Cooperation Department, within Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, presented international labor standards, paying special attention to European Social Charter and ILO Conventions.
Mr. Radovan Ristanović, former Director of Labor Inspectorate, was speaking on normative and factual situation in the field of labor rights in Serbia.
Prof. Zoran Stojiljković was focused on the issue of trade union establishment, saying that trade unions need a political agenda for its activites.

The workhop was held in a form of open discussion leading to the conclusion that there are numerous labor rights violations and that there is a room for cooperation between trade unions and NGOs in order to improve decent work situation in Serbia. Traing is seen as the first step in the process of national decent work network establishment.
