Economic Empowerment of Women - Women as Actors of Rural Development
Consultative Workshop
Center for Democracy Foundation organized a consultative workshop “Women as Actors of Rural Development – Possibilities and Challenges”, with aim to open a discussion about the level of involvement of the gender perspective in the local employment policies, on October 9, 2018. Workshop is supported by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.
The following issues have been addressed: the methods of contribution of women organizations to the economic empowerment of women living in the countryside, and what type of support they need; how to redesign local development policies in order to contribute to quality jobs creation and elimination of gender inequalities on labour market.
After the introductory speeches of the prominent experts in this field, participants – representatives of women CSOs, trade unions and state institutions, will have opportunity to present the most successful programs they implement in the area of economic empowerment of women.
The project “Women in Rural Areas as Development Actors” is the part of the wider program of the Center for Democracy Foundation - Program for Improved Protection of Labour Rights, Employment and Social Cohesion, through which we have conducted and published survey „The Position of Women on Labour Market“.
