  • „European Standards in Serbia" - I session in Niš


    Program „European Standards in Serbia" started with its first session, that was held on 21-22nd May in hotel „Tami Residence" in Nis. Session „Basic about EU" had introductional character. Participants had opportunity to learn more about the history and functioning of the EU, as well as about the position of the EU at the global stage and about european values that make foundation of this complexive structure.

    Lecturers were: Tanja Miscevic, professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Vladimir Ateljevic, advisor of the director of the Serbian European Integration Office and Jelena Milic, head of Center for Euroatlantic Studies. There were around 65 participants from the Nis and Pirot district. Majority of them are representatives of the local governments.

    Next session that will be devoted to the current status of Serbia in the european integration process will be held on 18-19th June on the same place.

  • Debate "The roll of church and religious communities in the National program for transplantation"

    Serbian-Jewish friendship society, Jewish council in Belgrade and Center for democracy foundation organized the debate "The roll of church and religious communities in the National program for transplantation" on 27th of May in Belgrade. 
    Representatives of Serbian Orthodox and Catholic churches, Jewish and Islam communities in Serbia signed the joined statement in which they supported the organ donations in purpose of saving human lives.

  • Debate "Parliament of Serbia - law makers or panel debate"

    Center for Democracy, with the help of Friedrich Ebert Foundation, organized a debate "Parliament of Serbia - law makers or panel debate", within the project Democratic Political Forum, on May 24th, 2010 at the National Bank of Serbia. 

    Opening remarks were given by Johannes Jung, former Bundestag MP and Dragoljub Mićunović, Center for Democracy.

  • PONTIS training for grantees


    On 15 April 2010 at CDF premises, representatives of PONTIS Foundation from Slovakia held the training on writing policy paper for researchers who won research grants within the project „Slovak - Serbian Enlargement Fund" which PONTIS Foundation implements in partnership with CDF.

  • The training for Industrial trade union of Serbia


    On 10 April 2010, Center for Democracy implemented the training on project proposal writing for activists and officials of the Industrial trade union of Serbia. 
    This workshop was initiated by CDF and resulted from excellent cooperation which our two organizations established a year ago.
    The cooperation continues on the joint project "We All have Right to a Safe Workplace", supported by USAID and implemented by Institute for Sustainable Communities.
