Within the framework of the campaign The Power of Social Responsibility, Center for Democracy organized a Press Conference on June 18, 2008 at 11 am in Tanjug International Press Center.
At the press conference, we presented two brochures which we have published during the campaign (“Good Practice of Companies in Protection of Workers” and “Respect for Employment Rights”), as well as announced the national conference “Economic and Social Rights in Serbia”, which will be held on June 27, 2008 in Sava Centar in Belgrade.
Within the campaign „The Power of our Social Responsibility/ State – Business – Citizens for Economic and Social Rights“, CDF organized a series of local conferences for representatives of the public, private and non-profit sectors, and series of public debates for citizens on the topic of respecting and protecting economic and social rights. The conferences and debates were held in the following cities:
Zrenjanin, 2 April
(conference from 11:30 to 14:00, and debate from 16:30 to 18:00, Zrenjanin Municipality).
Niš, 8 April
(conference from 11:30 do 14:00, and debate from 16:30 to 18:00, City hall Medijana).
Kruševac, 9 April
(conference from 11:30 to 14:00, Hotel „Rubin“, and debate from 16:30 to 18:00, Dom sindikata).
Paraćin, 22 April
(conference from 11:30 to 14:00, and debate from 16:30 to 18:00, Hall Bakarusa).
Kragujevac, 23 April
(conference from 11:30 to 14:00, and debate from 16:30 to 18:00, Red Cross Hall).
Center for Democracy Foundation, with the support of Institute for Sustainable Communities organized full-day trainings for journalists and their editors from local media outlets (TV, radio, print) in central and southern Serbia, with the goal of sensitizing them to the media coverage of women candidates and raising their awareness of the importance of women’s issues in their local communities.
Trainings were held in the following cities:Center for Democracy Foundation with support of Fridrih Ebert Foundation and Olof Palme International organized the debate " Underdeveloped Village and Modern Agriculture" within the project democratic Political Forum, on Friday, April 4th 2008 at the National Bank of Serbia .
Introductory remarks were given by Slobodan Milosavljevic, Minister of Agriculture and Zaharije Trnavcevic, journalist.
