Meeting Held of the Members of the Working Group for Sustainable Development Goals within the UN Global Network
A meeting of the members of the Working Group for Sustainable Development Goals within the UN Global Network was held on 28 May 2020.
News and initiatives launched at the global level were presented at the meeting, as were the activities of the local network and members undertaken during the Covid-19 crisis and a discussion took place on the regulations and measures introduced concerning the safe return of the workforce to offices.
The members presented their SDGs activities. The Center for Democracy Foundation (Nataša Vučković) and a representative of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation spoke about the Sustainable Development Goals for All - a social platformed launched to the public at the beginning of March. These two Foundations have partnered up with other NGOs and together cover the so-called Social Pillar. This project is supported by GIZ and the SDC.
The upcoming central event of the campaign marking the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Global Compact, the Virtual Leaders’ Summit (15 and 16 June 2020), held under the slogan Recover better, recover stronger and recover together, was also discussed. The Leaders’ Summit shall bring together a large number of representatives of the United Nations, Government, Business, Civil Society and Academia, initiating a conversation about how we can rebuild economies and societies during times of crisis. Between 10,000 and 15,000 registered participants are expected to participate.
