Vučković: Reforms and EU integration are in the interest of Serbian citizens
Nataša Vučković, interview for TV N1
It is not in the interest of citizens for Serbia not to have a representative at the EU–Western Balkans summit; the interest of Serbian citizens is for Serbia to be as present in Brussels as possible, said Nataša Vučković, Secretary General of the Center for Democracy Foundation, speaking to TV N1.
“We need to engage in dialogue as much as possible and to implement the reforms that we ourselves have decided to undertake: the rule of law, media freedom, the fight against corruption, an independent judiciary, elections that are fair and free, and citizens who can protest freely… These are the values of the European Union, and we have taken on the obligation to introduce them in Serbia because we want to be a country with such standards.”
It is important to show that during the process of European integration we understand the obligation to act in unity with the European Union and that we are a predictable partner, Vučković emphasized.
