National Platform for Digital Inclusion Established
Cooperation and knowledge exchange aimed at improving digital inclusion in Serbia
The first meeting of the National Platform for Digital Inclusion, established within the project “Digital Inclusion Initiative” with the aim of improving digital inclusion at the national level, was held on 24 November 2025 in Belgrade.
The Platform represents a mechanism for engaging and connecting relevant stakeholders dealing with issues of equal access to digital tools and resources. The Platform encourages strategic cooperation and dialogue among its members in order to identify key challenges, exchange effective solutions, and develop joint initiatives that bridge the digital divide and promote an inclusive approach to digital technologies across the country.
The National Platform for Digital Inclusion consists of decision-makers and policy-makers at the national and local levels, representatives of relevant institutions, civil society organizations, research and academic organizations, educational institutions, the business sector, experts, and individuals dealing with issues of digitalization and/or social inclusion.

At the gathering, organized by the Centre for Education Policy, discussions focused on the results of the national report on digital inclusion, local challenges, priorities, and the next steps of the Platform. On behalf of the Center for Democracy Foundation, Ivan Kuzmanović, Communications and Media Coordinator of the CDF, participated in the meeting.
The necessity of jointly building a space for cooperation, knowledge exchange, and policy development that contributes to reducing the digital divide in Serbia was emphasized. Within the National Platform for Digital Inclusion, the organization of at least four more national events and a series of joint activities is planned.
The Digital Inclusion Initiative (DII) project is implemented with financial support from the European Union. It addresses a critical aspect of modern participatory democracy – ensuring equal access to digital tools and information, which is necessary for informed citizen participation and engagement in democratic processes.
